80 Year Old Puts Bar To Knees
10

A small bar in the centre of a small town used by local farmers, we were called to investigate why business was not doing well. There were 3 members of staff two full time and one an old lady over 80. After monitoring we noticed that the problem was with old lady, she was not stealing but she was being taunted by local farmers to pour additional drinks i.e. if whisky was requested, her measures would be questioned so more was poured. The old lady had been in this company for over 40 years and was a friend of the owner who had just passed away. It was the daughter that had requested the investigation to be carried out, Instead of involving the old lady in an interview her family members were called and we explained what had been happening, this resulted in a retirement party being arranged for her and she was informed that under the latest drink and licensing laws that once reached 80 years of age it is not possible to work in a bar. This was something the family were happy with. The two other staff members were also caught stealing, both admitting £10k per year by doing £20/£30 per shift but it was being masked by problem with old lady, both staff members repaid money back and left the bar. .
