| 13 Staff Caught In Major Sweet-Hearting Scam |

| We were approached by a major retailer in relation to a company owned store the site had cameras already installed above points of sales but did not have the tills linked to the CCTV system. This store did in excess of £2-3 million turnover, and reported they were trying to achieve a margin of 18%; the store was only achieving 16%. Running the store was a manager and two assistant managers, after checking everything from purchases in and out and checking wastage at the butchery counter them, came to Successful Security and asked us to try and find the loss.
After the installation of some advanced CCTV and monitoring equipment, we monitored 3 days recordings, which took one month to analyse; we identified 13 out of 42 staff members that were involved in sweet hearting to other members of staff. We highlighted over 100 incidents of major sweet hearting, giving away packs of cigarettes and phone cards to friends and under ringing; the 13 staff members that were caught were dealt with by Spar themselves.
